#teachingavarosetl: (Weather Activity) How so we melt Ice?

Hello Everybody.

If you ever need some "me time" and your LO is not giving you space. This activity is perfect for them. They get to learn at the same time, you get some time to yourself.

So we did a small little activity, how do we melt ice? How do we save the animals from the frozen ice? Does salt work? Does it actually melt the ice faster?

Things you need:
- Water
- Container
- Animals
- Salt
- Food Colouring
- Sensory Tools

Freeze the animals in water overnight. So the next morning you can have a quiet hour to yourself.

Here's the beauty in this experiment. Ice takes time to melt.

Ok. I'm kidding. Just look at he beautiful shapes the ice makes when it's melting slowly.

I had a small bowl of salt with a teaspoon. And a cup of blue coloured water with a sensory tool.

The key is to melt the ice and rescue the animals.

Ahhhh... Pure bliss. An hour of silence, an hour of her learning how ice melts. An hour of her figuring out how ice melts.

Till next blog post.
