#teachingavarosetl: Finding Insects

Hi lovelies, 

Day 12. I realise AR misses the outdoors, she did mention from time to time that she wanted to go out. But we kept explaining to her about Coronavirus and the dangers of going out, at the same time we were also explaining to her what MCO was all about. Yeah, it can be frustrating trying to get a little one to understand staying at home. But this is why I’m doing loads of activities with AR. 

Here’s one that requires maybe a small garden area / balcony / outdoor section. Again, we live in a condo and we have to make do with whatever space we have left. So today, we did this activity in our balcony. 

Things you need:

- Insects toys

- Magnifying Glass

While AR was distracted. I hid all the tiny insects in our balcony. In potted plants, on Iggy’s cage, near the plants.. Yup, hid them well. 



Gave AR the magnifying glass and a bag. And told her to look for the insects, name the insects and then put them in a bag which we pretend to catch the insects. 

Did she have fun? Of course she did!! She made me hide them 3 more times again and she went to search for them again. You don’t really have to hide them at the same place. You could even hide them in the room, the hall, the kitchen. Wherever you want!
