#claretravels: Day 1 in South Korea (BUSAN)

Hello everyone,

We’re currently on a week long mini vacay at Busan, South Korea.

We started to pack about 1 week ago before our trip. I needed to make sure AR was well entertained on the flight. Packed a Trunki filled with activities for her. (Don’t worry I took a close up of what else was in her Trunki to share with all of you)

We had a small bag of My Little Pony and friends.

She brought along her sticker book with extra stickers to play with.

And Crayola has this really special Mess Free colouring book with really special markers. The thing that I love about this is that the markers only works well on the book. If AR tries to Color on the walls or anywhere else nothing else appears. *phew*

We found these Dot Dot colouring book and AR is in love with it! One page from this keeps her entertained for an hour long.

Some story books along. Her current favourite.. Mickey Mouse.

Then there is this Mess free water paint book too.

Oh and this is her current obsession. Jigsaw Puzzles. So glad I found these small ones in a box.

Loads and loads of snacks for AR. She loves to snack whenever we are travelling.

And of course, we can never leave without Lambie.

Ok, so now back to our travel story. We tend to like travelling at night, AR can sleep on the flight. We get our shut eye too, kinda begin our “no stress” trip without having to fuss. Yes, I know I packed a bag of entertainment for her.. But I’d rather her go to a new place prepared, well napped and ready for our mini adventures.

Anyways, we boarded Vietnam Air VN674 and the flight actually departed earlier at 7.50pm. AR was wide awake because our god children Ryu and Rie were with us. So of course, she was hyper and wide awake. I got to use some of her activity.

Stickers it was!

‘Supper’ was served on board. AR got her special kids meal.

She actually enjoyed her chicken dish and vege. Of course she finished the packet of RIbena and left the dessert.

I opted for the chicken dish too. See, the thing about flight food. When you are hungry.. Everything is sooooooo good, when you are not.. the food is just.. yeah.. Food.

So we ended up arriving Ho Chi Minh airport at about 9pm. Didn’t want to do any shopping, knowing that on our return we will come back to the same airport. So we ended up in a Restaurant / Bar and sat there and wait for our next flight.

I forgot to mention. AR knocked out, so she was still knocked out when we arrived Ho Chi Minh.

At 11pm we were already at the gate waiting to board Vietnam Air VN422 to Busan. IT WAS CHAOTIC!

There were privellage seats that were taken up by others, and the privellage lane was used for the Buisness class holders. So when they announced for us to board the flight, we were in this long line. It was fine, we got onto the bus that took a really really loooonnnnggg way to the plane. Bus stuffed with people.

That was not the end.

Later did we know, we were going to be late. Our flight was delayed for 1 and a half hour. We were all seated on our seats, all buckled up because the flight attendant said so.

Imagine, 1 and a half hour. We could have slept but AR was wide awake and cranky. Thank God for her activities. At 1.30 am. We took off for Busan.

AR slept off. So when her ‘other supper’ arrived. She didn’t get to enjoy it. So I took a nice picture and returned it. Hehehe.

I had this beef dish. Ended up eating the fruits and bun only. Oh well like I said... Flight food.

After a while, I knocked out. AR was still sound asleep. Le Hulk Hubster knocked out, the godchildren were all knocked out.. We were woken up with the sound of clapping. Yup, an air stewardess woke us up clapping her hands shouting “Hey wake up you!” Such courtesy, such manners.

At 9.24am we were arrived Busan airport.

Excitement filled the air, we were ready to take on Busan. Not knowing what Busan had in store for us. We hired a Van taxi and we were on our way to Haeundae. We booked rooms for our stay at Shilla Stay. Guess what happens, we were not allowed to check in until 3pm.

Didn’t want to be defeated, although we were already exhausted, dying to just wash up and refresh ourselves we took a walk around the hotel to look for food. Ended up in a small cozy restaurant for brunch.

We decided to just walk around and explore more since we still could not get our rooms.

Found the claw vending machine outlet. The kids had their fun there.

AR enjoyed looking at all the live underwater creatures that were on display at every restaurant.

We took some time for some early shopping too. Guess what we bought??

Walked around a bit more, the heat was intense. It’s temperature is the same as Malaysia. BUT the sun is a killer!! It was much more like as if it was burning your flesh kinda way. (Hahahah, drama much)

2pm came, we got news to say we could check in to our rooms. So we headed back to the hotel, stood in a really really long line, waited for our turn. AR was hot, bothered and cranky. The receptionist at the reception just made it worst for us. Dude was so rude, we just asked were our rooms connecting rooms? Were they on the same floor. That idiot just lost his temper and snapped at Le Hulk Hubster. So much for Hospitality at Shilla Stay.

By 3pm, we finally got our rooms. All exhausted, we showered and took a short nap. We needed to recharge our batteries to continue our adventure in Busan.

7.02 our stomachs started growling. Dinner time, we walked out of our hotels and started exploring again.

We tried live octopus. Then again, I think I was brain washing myself telling myself it’s dead.. It’s just the reflects from the muscles moving. God knows. I survived anyways. Haha!

Got my hands on a honey comb soft serve ice cream as a reward for being so daring.

And that was our night.

By 10.51pm, we were all snuggled in our beds in the hotel. Ready to take on the next day. I’ll try to keep ya’ll posted with my ongoing here in Busan. As much as I can I promise to try.

Till tomorrow then!
