#teachingavarosetl: Colorful Ice Balls

Hello Daddies & Mommies,

The weather has been weird lately. One minute it rains the whole day, the next it's freaking hot! Today was one of those hot days.. (But I predict rain.. I hope.) So we get to play with ice today!

Things you need:
- Ice Holder (Ball shape if possible)
- Food Coloring

I also used the 'ketchup bottle' so easier to transfer the water into the ice holder.

All you have to do is mix the food coloring with water. Put them in the ice holder, and then leave the ice holders in the freezer to freeze up.

Once it's all frozen you get these really beautiful ice balls to play with!

I let AR touch and play with them at first. She was so mesmerised with the colors she kept looking at them and spinning them all around in the tray.

She loves to play with the cold. Even at our recent trip to Japan, she took off her gloves and went crazy at the snow.. So she obviously went crazy playing with the ice balls.

Ok, so this other option is up to you. I then put a piece of art paper on the tray and she used the balls to "draw" which left a really beautiful water colored paper. Which we made it into an envelope. (Sorry forgot to take pictures of it.)

Who knew a simple ice with food coloring can be this much fun?! And look at how the mix of water and food coloring is when it's frozen! No wonder she was so mesmerised with it. Well, till then. Have fun!
